Play Date

Happy Monday Everyone,
How was your weekend?  I have to say this was an awesome weekend.  All I did was rest and relax!  It was wonderful and it is just what I needed!  I was able to get so much stuff done in my scrap room.  I loved it!  I finished 2 layouts (I had started them 2 weeks ago at my Friday crop),  3 cards, 9 Rolodex cards for a swap that I am in, and I made a  2 sketches for two new layouts.  I loved it!  I know it seems like I must have been in my scrap room all weekend but really I had my mojo going so I was in a great groove.  Plus I was able to make my own sketches while watching t.v.

Last week I was honored to receive two blog awards.  Thanks so much to Tracy and Harmony SweetPea.  I truly appreciate it very much.
Awards

I have to tell 8 things about myself:
1.  I love dogs.  I have always had a golden retriever or Labrador dog.  Currently I have a golden named Bailey.
2.  When I work out I listen to my Pandora Radio and it is set to Pop 80's music.
3.  My favorite CD to listen to when I scrap is something by Train.
4.  I secretly enjoy it when Jack listens to Kidz Bop--hehehehehehe
5.  My best girlfriend and I have been friends for 43 years---wow I am getting old--we met when we were 2 years old.
6.  I love spending time with my family.
7.  I love taking walks.
8.  I have lived in Europe a couple of times throughout my life.

Now I have to pass this award on to other people.  This is always so hard because I have THE best followers and everyone is awesome--so here goes
1.Christy
2.SMDLUXE
3.Kerryn
4.  Michele
5. Tammy
6.Catherine

You should really check out these blogs.  These are such inspiring blogs and I love checking them out.!

Now on to my layout.

In December Jack had his first play date with his friend. He was so excited to have a friend over.  One of the things they did was play the Wii.  These are pictures were taken during his first play date.  They didn't even know I was in the room.

Supplies
bazzill, basic grey, paper trey ink, tim holtz distress ink

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic week.  I have a busy one again, but when they are busy they seem to go by fast.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.

Finally Friday

Boy, am I glad it is the weekend.  This week has just been terrible for me--being sick, not sleeping etc.  All I want this weekend is CALM!  I don't want to do anything.

Little Yellow Bicycle had another sketch challenge.  I love their stuff and they had another awesome sketch by Liz Qualman.

I loved it and I had just bought some of the new line of theirs called Twig.  Oh, I love this line.  I knew exactly what photos I wanted to use for this.  Jack and I were sitting at the table doing some work on the alphabet and he was just sitting there so darn cute that I grabed my camera and started shooting.  He doesn't like it when I do this but he was in a good mood and I captured some great pictures.

Here is my take on the sketch

My Sweet Boy
I used my Silhouette and cut the font, and I place a couple of their faux buttons.

I was in love with the little tree and charms.  Each one has a word on it for example: thoughtfullness, kindness etc.  The were perfect for my layout because all the words describe my Jack.  For the journaling tag I stamped it with Ali Edwards stamps.
I added a couple of the dimensional buttons.

I also used their canvas border strips.  I love these.

Supplies
bazzill, little yellow bicycle, ali edwards

Well, I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.  Any big plans? I will be back on Monday with a new layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

GYSO #8

Happy Thursday!.

Normally I put my weekly GYSO sketch out on Friday but I still am working on the finishing touches on my layout for the Little Yellow Bicycle challenge.  So I thought I would shake things up a bit.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it.  It is Michael opening up his presents Christmas Morning.  He was opening up his favorite present--Curious George.  Jack, god love him, wanted to get Michael a present and he remembered that he had a George stuffed animal that he NEVER played with and he asked me if he could give it to Michael.  He knew that George was Michael's favorite.  How cute is that?

Supplies
bazzill, imaginisce, paper trey ink

Sorry for all the quick posts but still not feeling that great.
Well I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wednesday Card

Happy Wednesday!

Well as you know if you have followed my blog for any length of time is that I LOVE Imaginisce.  I have entered every contest and challenge they have posted in the last year (sadly I have never won--still hoping!!) and this month's challenge was a huge stretch for me.  The challenge  was to create something using their products and based on these colors:

Well, with 2 boys I really didn't have anything from Imaginsce with these colors.  So I wasn't going to enter this one, but........ then I kept thinking about it and then decided to make a card using the adorable Enchanted line for my God Daughter.  Her birthday will be coming up soon and this was a perfect opportunity to buy some of this paper.  I feel in love with it.  So here is my card:

Birthday Girl!

For the card I started with a 5x5 base and covered it with the Imaginisce paper.  I then made a die cut and stamped the image of the little girl using memento ink.  I then colored her in with Copic markers.  I then made a mask and placed it over the girl and used my Spun Sugar distress ink and colored all around the girl in various amounts making some areas darker and around the little girl lighter.  I then used my white gel pen and made faux stitching around the edges.  Finally I added some bling to the little girl's crown by using my IRock.  I then cut a small strip of another piece of pattern paper from Imaginisce and stamped the greeting and again added some bling.
 Here is a close up.
I also like to dress the inside up so I stamped my greeting and added a bit of bling on the inside to make it a bit more fun!

Oh, I just love how it turned out and boy let me tell you --I LOVE scrapping girl stuff--the pink--the bling--oh what fun!

Supplies
cardstock:  neenah solar white
paper  Imaginisce
ink:  tim holtz, memento
stamps:  Imaginisce, Hero Arts
bling:  I Rock tool and Gems
Markers:  Copic

Well, I hope everyone has a great day.  I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

Best Friends

Happy Tuesday!

I want to thank all of you for all your wonderful comments.  It really helped!  Even though a lot of us have never met I so look forward to hearing from you either from your blogs or the wonderful comments you leave for me.  I am so honored that you come and visit.

Well I always post my post the day before, but we have no news yet as to what my hubby's mother wants.  We only know that there is not going to be a service now.  So I am still in limbo.

Yesterday I had the day off and I got so much accomplished.  It is amazing what you can do when you are motivated.  I totally cleaned out the closets of the boys.  I was packing up the clothes that don't fit the boys and packing it up for charity and saving others for Michael.  I was also taking a tally of what I need to buy for the boys for spring.  I have to start shopping the early sales for the bargains.  I have some stuff that I bought on mark down, but I need a bunch more.  Oh I hate my credit card bill when it is time to buy them clothes.

I also was able to finish a page and make a card.  So happy I got to scrap today.  I totally miss it when I can't get in the basement to play.  Still not feeling great.  Whatever this is I think I need to see a doctor.  YUCK!!!

Well on the my layout.

Best Friends

Several weeks ago on my What am I working on Thursday posts (HERE) I showed the paper and my sketch for my design team  layout for my lss (simply scrapbooks).  I had to use the new line of paper by pebbles inc.  I think it turned out really cute!

Sorry that the pictures are out of order--I don't know what was going on today?

supplies
bazzill, pebbles inc, tim holts mini clips, ek success punches

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic day.  I will be back tomorrow with my Wednesday Card!

Christmas Card 2010 + Giveaway Winner!!!!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.  I had high hopes for my weekend but nothing happened the way I wanted.  I started to not feel well after school on Friday and by Friday night I knew I had a little bug.  I was up 1/2 the night and then was totally exhausted on Saturday.  I wanted to get so much accomplished but all I did was lay on the couch.  Hubby was great and watched the kids.  We were supposed to have a date night but I cancelled that.  Sunday I was feeling better and just taking it easy when we got a call from my brother in law that my hubby's step father had passed away.  This was very unexpected.  We still do not have any details yet, but we may be traveling to Arizona later in the week.  My in laws are snow birds and go to Arizona for the long winter.  Needless to say there wasn't much excitement going on in my house.  I hope everyone else had a much better time!

As promised I have the winner of my Imaginisce Snag Em's giveaway.  I used the random.org generator--sorry I don't have the picture--there was a glitch with the picture.  So without further ado the winner is #10 ---Becky!!!

GYSO #7 Opening Presents on Christmas Day

Happy Friday!

I don't know about you but I am soo ready for the weekend!  This week seemed to go on and on.  Just way to busy after work.  I can't wait to spend time with my family and just "hang out".  We really don't have any plans.  I need to catch up on housework and just odds and ends.  Do you have any plans for the weekend?

GYSO #7 Challenge

I have to say I love the sketches at GYSO.  I think I like them so much because they are very similar to the way I scrap or they are easily adapted to my style.  Here is the sketch for this week.
When I saw it I knew I wanted to scrap Jack on Christmas morning.  I needed to journal his difficult day--Jack can get easily worked up--so he got up at 2:00 am Christmas morning and had to use the rest room.  He saw that Santa had come and he wanted to get up.  Well I told  him that he had to go back to bed and wait till at least 7:00 am.  Well Jack went back to his room and I know he just made himself sick.  So by 3:00 he was complaining  about his tummy and by 4:00 he made himself throw up.  When it was finally time for him to wake  up he was all happy, but his nerves were still all jumpy and he got sick again.  So we made him stay on the couch. My mom then came over and he got all excited and overwhelmed again so he stayed on the couch. After his nap in the afternoon he had finally calmed down and the rest of the day was pretty good.  God love Jack but he does get so excited.  The thrill of Christmas was just too much for him.

Opening Presents
Christmas Day
The one thing I love about Echo Park is that when you buy the paper packet you get all these great embellishments.  Really you don't need anything else.  They make it so easy for you.  Here is used the word stickers.
Here I used these really cute guys to add a bit and I used the small letter stickers.
I used the larger alphabet stickers for the title and added some paper trey ink buttons (it wouldn't be a siehl layout if I didn't add a button or two).
I also cut out the journaling spot.  I think it is so cute.  If I do say so I really love this layout.  It just has a fun feel to it.

Supplies
bazzill, echo park, paper trey ink

Sketchy Thursday Challenge

Hello everyone,

I am just popping in for a quick post today.  I am swamped with work and I have Jack's kindergarten meeting tonight.  Have to get all my stuff done in order to go.

I saw this month's sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and I knew I had to make a layout with it.  It was so fun to play with. Boy, they have some awesome sketches! Here is the sketch:

March GDT Challenge

And there were additional requirements for the challenge.
1.  use pink & green or red & turquoise--I used all the colors!!
2.  Hearts--there are hearts on my chipboard cupcakes and the flower is made of hearts.
3.  A list about something/someone you love--my son made a list of the top 3 reasons he loves cupcakes

Here is my take on the sketch--I know it looks different from the sketch, but you know me--I have to put my spin on it.  I have to say I am in love with it.  The pictures I used turned out awesome and I just love the layout.  I used my winnings from the Little Yellow Bicycle challenge and I have to say if you haven't bought this paper line you must--it is sooo fun to play with.

Last Sunday we  made cupcakes for Valentine's day (for home and for Jack's classmates) and Jack had so much fun!  I of course was taking pictures and when I saw this picture I knew I had to scrap it.  Plus Jack yells out "I love cupcakes" so thinking of the challenge I asked him why and he responded:
"1.  the icing 2. the sugar (meaning the colored sugar sprinkles) and 3. the sprinkles ( the little dot candies)"

In this picture you can see the requirements of pink and green and red and turquoise and hearts.
Here you can see the list of something that Jack loves!

Supplies
bazzill, little yellow bicycle

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.  I am getting so ready for the weekend.  No really big plans but I have Monday off so I have a little extra time to get some relaxation in.  ---any way who am I kidding-- a little bit more scrapping in--hehehehehe

Don't forget to go to Monday's post (HERE) for a chance to win my Imaginisce stamp GIVEAWAY!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will see you tomorrow with a new post and layout!

4th Valentine's Day Card

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week.  So far so good here.  Busy but I can handle it.  Nothing crazy!  I have been trying to scrap a bit each night.  When I go to the Friday crops, I take my sketch and paper etc but I do not bring my Silhouette and computer.  I don't like to haul of that stuff so I aways need to come back home and finish of the title and journaling (if I decided to type the journaling).  I worked on 3 layouts so I am trying to finish those off.  I am having some trouble though because Michael is not wanting to play down the basement.  He just wants me to hold him.  I am certainly fine with that--in fact I treasure those moments because I know it won't be too long off where they won't want to sit on my lap.  Every once in a while Michael gets in these moods where he just wants to be held.  Usually it occurs when he is not feeling well but so far I haven't seen him pulling at his ears or anything.  I think he is just missing me all day while I am at work and wants my full attention--well he gets it!

Well I can finally show off the card I made for my hubby.  I think it turned out great!

Supplies
bazzill cardstock, little yellow bicycle

Well I hope everyone has a great day today.  Don't forget to go to Monday's post (HERE) and leave a comment and you could win some awesome Imaginisce Snap Em stamps!  I will be back tomorrow with another post.  See ya then and thanks for stopping by!

ghost and pumpkin

Happy Tuesday!
Can you believe I am still working on the fall?  It seems like it just wont stop! I have a couple more to go and then I will finally wrap it up.  I think I have 3 more layouts and then I will officially be done with Fall of 2010!

Here is a layout that I did.  Michael fell in love with my mom's decorations for the fall.  He carried these "friends" around with him in the house.  He would hug them everyday. It was so cute.

For the layout I used the Imaginisce Apple Cider collection.  I just love this line.  I now only have a few scraps left.  I think I will have enough to make some cards for next year!
For the journaling tag I used the nestabilities die cut and the matching Paper Trey Ink stamps.  I love this!
Here is a close up of the homemade chipboard.  I am still addicted to making these for my titles. It just adds a bit of dimension.

Supplies
bazzill, imaginisce, tim holtz distress inks, paper trey ink, nestabilities

This was just a quick post today.  I have tons of work to do today.  Busy Busy!! Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with my 4th and final Valentine's Day card.  This one was for my hubby, and I didn't want to post it until he saw it!

Don't forget to go to yesterday's post to leave a comment to be entered to win my stamp giveaway!

Happy Valentine's Day + Giveaway!

Happy Monday and Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone is having a great day!  I know mine is super busy but it should be a good one!  Did everyone have a great weekend?  We did but boy was it busy!  Friday was my crop and I just had a feeling that I wasn't going to get much done and I didn't.  I talked a bunch with the girls and that was really fun.  On Saturday Jeff and I dropped the kids off at mom's in the afternoon and we went and had an early dinner just the two of us.  It was a great little date night.  Plus the boys had a ball playing at Nanny's house.  On Sunday my mom came over and we made Valentine's day Cupcakes for Jack's little party at school and that was a ton of fun!  The boys get soo excited to decorate them.  Then I did stuff around the house just to get ready for the week.  I have a busy week.  Tuesday we have night conferences (I really don't mind them it is just that I don't get to see the kids at all that day--they are asleep when I leave for work and they are asleep when I get home--i so miss them on these days!!!) and then on Thursday I have Kindergarten Orientation for Jack.  Wow I am going to have a school ager come September!  Yikes!!!

Well on to my giveaway.  It is a small one, but I just wanted to share some of these stamps.  I think there are so many things that you can do with them, and they are just so darn cute.  I also wanted to show my appreciation to all of you who come here and take the time to write such kind comments! You all are the BEST!

In the giveaway you will receive 4 stamps from the Imaginisce Snag Em collection.  There are 3 dinos and I ticket stamp.

Here is a card I made with my set of stamps.  I took a 5x5 kraft base and stamped it with my Hero Arts background stamp.  I then used my nestabilities and  then I stamped and colored my dino using copic markers.  Next I made a mask and then stamped it with a dino foot print image. I then inked it up with more of the distress ink.  Finally I made the faux stitching with a black marker.  On the computer I made the sentiment of the outside and then I stamped Happy Birthday on the inside..  I love how it turned out.

Supplies
kraft cardstock, neenah solar white cardstock, Hero Arts cardstock, nestabilities, memento ink, tim holtz distress ink, copic markers, imaginisce stamp, hero arts.

This stamp is a must have!!!!  I love it. There are so many things that you can do with this stamp.

Here is a look at what i am working on using my stamp.  I stamped several images of the stamp in a row and then cut it out.  Now I am going to decide what colors to color it and then put it on a layout.  I love this. Aren't they cute!
So all you have to do to win these great stamps is:
1.  Be a follower of my blog!
2.  Leave a comment.
That is it!!!

Die Familie Siehl

Happy Friday!!!!

So glad it is the weekend!  Going to my Friday crop tonight and hopefully get a bunch done, but I have to say I am a bit tired and just blah. When this happens I usually talk more than work.  Hopefully I will pick up, but if I don't I will still have a great time seeing my friends.

Anyone have any big plans for the weekend?  We do not. I think we are going to stop by my mom's.  We  will all hang out in the afternoon and then hubby and I will slip out to get a quick bite of something.  Maybe Deweys's pizza.  I quick little date --just the 2 of us.  Plus it is a win win because mom will get to hang out with the boys and make them their favorite--grilled cheese. Other than that we don't really have any plans.  Jack asked to go the donut shoppe after church on Sunday so I bet we will do that.

Die Familie Siehl

Late in the summer we went to our local German Festival.  They always have great food, beer and things to do with the family.  It was really really hot so we kept Michael at my mom's house, and hubby, Jack and I went.  We really had a great time.  Hubby loves to go to this festival to explore his German roots.  I go along with him for the food and beer, and he supports me in the month of March for my big festival since I am all Irish.

When we saw this booth we knew we had to get our picture taken with this.  Jack looked so incredibly cute!

For the layout I used my Jillibean soup.  I thought the colors were perfect for the pictures.

I used once again my rub ons for the stitching
I used my punch to create a border going down the side just to add a bit.
I added circles all around the layout for the journaling, date stamp and just to finish off the top and bottom borders.

Supplies
bazzill, jillibean soup, paper trey ink, & dcwv

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I will be back on Monday with a little GIVEAWAY!  So be sure to check in here.

Thanks for stopping by!
