Some Odd Girl Challenge Friday

Happy Friday!!

Who is glad it is the weekend?  Me!!!!  Do you all have any big plans?  Not much here.  I have just my usual errand-grocery etc on Saturday morning and I will go into the scrap store to pick up my stuff for my doodlebug class next weekend.  Jack has flag football in the afternoon.  I think it is going to be a great day to work on scrap stuff in between all my other things.  Then on Sunday hubby and Jack are going to the Bengals game again.  Jack had so much fun last week and is so excited again for this week.  The two of them were just way too cute.  My mom is coming over and we are heading to run errands with Michael.  Target and Kohl's are on my list.

I love to play along with the girls over at Some Odd Girl Stamps and this week's challenge was to be inspired by this color palette.

And here is what I came up with.   I created this to send to Jack's teacher.  He comes home every day talkin about how nice she is and I thought this would be a nice card to say thanks. I was a bit unhappy with my stamp--Just a Note because the paper is glossy so I used my staz on ink but I didn't know that it was dried out until I stamped it on my page and it didn't show up very well.  So I traced over it but it didn't go very well.

Supplies
stamp- some odd girl
paper-imaginisce
canvas sticker- imaginisce
punch- ek success

I hope everyone has a great day today and weekend!  I will see you all on Monday!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween Card Part One

Happy Wednesday,

Have you been in a crafty mood lately?  Boy, I have.  I have been going crazy with stuff.  I love it when this happens.  I so wish i could take a day off work just to be in my craft room for an entire day and crank out the stuff.  I have so many sketches ready to start creating.  I love it when this happens.

Believe it or not- I started making my Halloween cards last January.  I had finished up all my Halloween layouts and I had tons of scraps left over.  You know me -- I can't throw away a good scrap and stickers.  So what is a girl to do?  Make cards.  This is the first of MANY cards for Halloween.  I love Halloween and I love sending out cards to my family and friends.  Many say they look forward to them.  So I can't deny them. hehehehehehe

Supplies

A Tuesday Nikki Sivils Challenge

Happy Tuesday!

I am glad Monday is over with! Just a busy busy day at work and with the kids!  I hope today is a bit calmer.  I am so loving the temperature change.  We are headed into a week of cool temps and I love it.  I got my fall mums planted outside our house and I am ready for fall.

Over at Nikki Sivils they are having a monthly challenge and this one really caught my eye.
Scrap an Object
For this months challenge you can use any collection or combination of collections you like.  The challenge is to scrap something that you normally do not scrap. No kids, no pets, no events, etc.  Scrap your favorite book, drink, phone, etc.  As long as it is not a live object you are good!

This sounded like fun  especially since I have been wanting to scrap our house for 2.5 years now.  When my father died I knew I needed to be closer to my mom.  I am an only child and being an hour away was too much for me.  My hubby was awesome and we moved our family back to the Dayton, Ohio area.  We were really lucky and bought our house right when the market fell in the housing market.  So we were able to get our dream home!  Every day I look at our house and feel like the luckiest person alive!  We have has some issues with it but we LOVE it!

Supplies
Everything is Nikki Sivils.  I used the We are Family line!!!

This is such an awesome collection.  I just LOVE Nikki's papers and I knew this paper would be perfect for this layout.  The colors and the adorable embellishments were meant to be!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back tomorrow with my first of many Halloween Cards.  I love to make Halloween cards!  See you all tomorrow!

Monday Sneak Peek

Hi everyone,

Did you have a great weekend? Oh we did! Saturday was a bit busy but all with fun stuff!  Got my haircut and then went into the store.  Oh course, I did a bit of shopping.  I decided to go with the Bella Blvd. halloween line.  It was just too cute that I couln't resist.  I also bought a couple of other pieces here and there.  Really like everything right now.

Jack had flag football practice in the afternoon.  Hubby took him and I stayed home with Michael and then we all went to a fall festival  It was at the farm and they had a person making Indian Medicine bags for the kids.  Jack went CRAZY for this.  He got some diamondback skin, a shark's tooth, a coyote tooth and claw, and some other types of rocks.  He has not taken off from around his neck.  He is too cute!

Well fall is officially here and I love it!  Fall is my favorite season and my favorite for scrapping.  I have a couple of sneak peeks for you with the October kit from Burlap and Buttercups.  I have to say that this kit ROCKS.  The paper is from Jillibean Soup, Bella Blvd., American Crafts, and Crate Paper.  The colors are to die for.  The embellishments are crazy cute: stickers, chipboard, burlap, buttons, ribbon and a whole lot more.

Doesn't all look yummy!  I think this is a must have for scrappers and card makers because everything is so awesome!

I will be back tomorrow with a new project!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I totally appreciate all of you who take the time to write such wonderful comments!  See you all tomorrow!

September's Imaginisce Challenge

Happy Saturday,
I usually don't post on Saturday but I needed to get my challenge in.  There was no way I was missing Imaginisce challenge.  This is the 14th straight challenge that I have entered? Why might you ask?  Well, because I always find them fun! and I love Imaginisce.

For this challenge we needed to make a layout using this sketch.

I love the grid and blocking style (I have been doing a lot of cards with this style) so I thought I would give a layout a try.

The week before school started Jack's school had an open house for all the students.  The children could come in and meet their teacher and see their classroom.  Jack  loved this!  He was a touch nervous about starting kindergarten but as soon as he say this cool bulletin board with his name on a frog he fell in love!  It didn't hurt that his teacher seemed really nice and super pretty.   I didn't bring my camera but I was able to capture these photos with my phone.  Jack's classroom is in the basement so there wasn't the best lighting but I don't care.  I think it turned out great.
After the first couple of weeks passed Jack got to take home his frog.  It was so cute.  He asked me "Can you scrap this for me mom?"  So I was so excited that I could used his first name tag as an embellishment on this page!

supplies
paper, die cuts, 3d stickers-imaginisce
stickers-jenni bowlin, bella blvd.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.  I am hoping to go fall mum shopping and to take some autumn photos!  See you on Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday

Hey there and Happy Friday!

What is everyone doing this weekend?  Any crafting plans?  Saturday we don't have any real big plans for once which is really nice.  I am getting my haircut and then I am going into the store for awhile to work.  I think I will put in a couple of hours. Plus the store is having a huge sale for their anniversary!  I can't wait.  I still haven't picked out my Halloween paper yet and I want to make sure what I want is still there.  Sunday hubby is taking Jack to his first Bengals game.  He is so excited.  Michael and I are just going to hang out at home.  The game is not sold out so we won't be able to watch it so I guess we will listen to it on the radio while we play outside.

My question for you is this:  what is your favorite Halloween line this year?  I can't seem to decide on one.  Maybe Bella Blvd or maybe Doodlebug I just can't decided.

Burlap and Buttercups is a monthly kit club and the kit for September has a lot of Basic Grey in it.  This is a very cute line.  I really love all the chipboard elements that come in the kit.  Today's layout uses the kit.

Jack was so excited to try on his uniforms when they came in the mail right before school started. I just had to take these pictures of him getting ready for kindergarten.  He looks so cute in his little uniforms!  He is growing up so fast.

Wednesday Card

Don;t you just love Wednesdays?  I do.  For some reason they make me happy.

So what fun things have you been up to?  I have been working on several kits from the store.  I love working with all the new stuff.  I have been working  on kits from Bella blvd., Little Yellow Bicycle, and Jillibean Soup.  I am so loving all the fall and winter papers.

Today's card uses the new line from Bella Blvd. Making the Team.  I have to say this is one of my favorite sports lines I have ever seen!  I think it is the colors and the fun stickers.  If you haven't seen it you should check it out because the papers could be used for anything really
Again I used all my scraps left over from my double page layout.  I just used a blocking style.  I think it came out really cute and really easy!

I hope everyone has a super day! I will be back on Friday with a new layout.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wednesday Card

Happy Wednesday!
I am so glad to be getting back into our normal routine.  I have been able to get a little crafting in after school and I love that!

As I mentioned yesterday I got to work with Webster's Pages this past week.  When we get our kit from the store the Design Team needs to complete a double page layout or 2 one page layouts along with a card.  I used all of my paper on my double page layout.  So I was a little stumped for my card.  Then it came to me.  The pattern paper had a blue polka dotted page, and I could recreate this using my stamps.  I used my Hero Arts background stamp and my Jenni Bowlin ink and created the background.  I had a couple of scraps and I cut out 2 of the cupcakes and I had one canvas tag left.  So this is what I came up with.  Again (in my opinion) not the greatest card but then they all can't be. Right?

supplies
cardstock-bazzill

Don't forget to vist Monday's post (HERE) to enter the giveaway of a collection pack of Echo Park's Summertime!

Tuesday Layout

I don't know about you but I am so glad Monday is over and we are moving on with the week.  I am hoping that things calm down now.  The last 2 weeks have been crazy.  I had my birthday, Jeff had his 4 days later and then 3 days later Jack had his (and he had 3 parties)!  So now we are set till late November for the next birthday.

One of the kits that I received from the store was a kit by Webster's Pages.  Now this is not my style of paper--don't get me wrong--I know lots and lots of people love it and it is very popular but for me it is just not my style.  I do love; however, stepping outside my comfort zone to try something new and experiment with new types of paper.  So here is my effort.

Celebrate Life

These are some pictures of my birthday.  I was so happy to get some new scrappy things: a new border punch, a couple of circle punches (i have started a collection), some Imaginisce fall items, and I got my Nook fixed.  I love my Nook and it was having some problems with the new software updates.  My hubby took it and got it fixed without me knowing about it.  I was so happy and now it is working just fine!  I love my Nook!  My hubby did an awesome job!!!

Supplies
cardstock-bazzill
Everything else is Webster's Pages

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Tomorrow is Wednesday Card day and I will show you the companion card to this layout!  See ya then!  Don't forget to go to Monday's post to enter the giveaway!

Monday Monday + a Giveaway!

Can you believe the weekend is over already?  It went by so fast but then again we were booked for almost every minute of the weekend.  Friday was my crop. Saturday I was up and at the grocery at 7:30 and had to be back home for Jack's swim lesson at 9:00.  Then I needed to unpack my crop bag and then it was time for Jack's little birthday party at Chuck E Cheese.  He was able to invite 2 friends (oh yea I forgot to mention that Jack turned 6 last week).  We then met friends for dinner with the kids.  Sunday I had lunch for the grandmothers and we had a little party just family for Jack.  My aunt died this week as well and we had the visitation and today we have the funeral and wake.  As you can see I barely had a chance to do anything else--I did sneak in a bit of crafting though but it was done at weird hours.

Well as I mentioned last week.  I have really been busy at the store.  I found out Friday that Vicki wants me to teach a card class using my 5 Doodlebug Halloween cards.  Here is a link to two of them. HERE I love doodlebug so this will be really fun.  Then I set the dates for my sketch classes.  See over at the right for the schedule and then I set up the times to get trained on using type pad.  I was offered the job and accepted the position of blog and facebook manager and writer of my local scrapstore, Simply Scrapbooks.  I am sooooo excited.  I have some big plans so it should be a lot of fun.  I will still be part of the teaching staff and design team staff.  I now will be able to pull all of these 3 things together and get the blog and facebook going.  If you are in the Dayton/Kettering area--keep checking back here because we will be having contests on facebook and everything.  Should be really fun!!!!

With me accepting this job, plus managing my teaching job (yup the one that pays the bills-hehehehehe) and family I am going to be busy!!!  I am going to step back a bit from my personal blog.  Don't worry I will still be here every week but not every day.  I will need to develop a balance of things. I know that I am really stretching myself but this was a great opportunity and I didn't want to pass it up.  Since I am highly organized I just need to find that groove to make it all work.  I know it may take me a couple of weeks but I know I can do it.

Now on to the fun stuff!!!!!  I mentioned that once we reach 150 followers I will be having a giveaway --or actually several giveaways.  The first one features the entire collection pack of Echo Park's Summer Days!
SD14016 Collection Kit

I know we are heading into fall but if you are like me you still have TONS of summer photos just waiting to be scrapped!
Here's how to win!
1.  follow my blog
2.  leave a comment on this post
3.  spread the work about this blog and giveaway on your blog, facebook page or email friends and then come back here and tell me!
4.  refer a friend--have your friend  say where they heard it and you get another chance to win!

So that is at least 4 ways to enter.  You have till Thursday to enter. I will announce the winner on Friday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back tomorrow with a new project.  See you all then!

Doodlebug Friday!

Hey everyone and Happy Friday!

So glad that today is Friday.  Tonight I am going to my Friday night crop with the girls. I am so excited.  Lots to do and tons of catching up since I have not been at my summer crops.

I have been busy this week after school with making my display for the store using the Doodlebug cards and new Halloween line. Here is  a peek at my scrap desk with all the goodies.
Can I tell you I Love this line.  The little monsters are just way to cute.  I can't get enough of them!  Here is the first card.
Isn't that little 3D sticker just so cute! He has googly eyes.  LOVE him!

This next one is my favorite! I love the paper with all the little monsters!  For this card I ran 2 strips of paper through my crimper to create the border for the paper.  I think the black made the colors pop a bit more!  I love the shape of this card.  So fun and then you open the card up and you see ....
this.  I love the greeting.  Again I used the paper crimper.

I used the die cuts on all the cards.  I just love those!

Well I will be back later with another set of the cards.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hello to some of the new followers.  Thanks so much!  I GIVEAWAY will be coming next week so be sure to stay tuned!

Have a great weekend everyone and I will catch up with you all on Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Doodlebug Thursday

Hey there,
The week is marching on and I am loving it!  The weekend can't get here fast enough!

As I mentioned yesterday  Doodlebug was asking to see some projects using their Halloween lines current and past.  Well The first couple of years for Jack all I used was Doodlebug.  Today's layout is of Jack when he was one.  He was "the cutest little lion"!  I made this layout 5 years ago.  Time sure does fly doesn't it.
I used to love my foam stamps!  I always stamped on my layouts.  I still do but now it is with clear or rubber stamps.

Supplies
Everything is Doodlebug except for the foam stamps and paint.

I hope everyone has a great day today! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with another project for Doodlebug.  Tomorrow's project features there current Halloween line and let me tell you it is soooo cute!  See ya then!

A Doodlebug Wednesday

Hi Everyone,
I know that on Wednesday I usually show a card but I found out today that Doodlebug was asking to see some Halloween projects using some of their past collections.  Well. I  have a couple of those!.  I love Doodlebug and they always have the cutest Halloween paper.

Today's project is Jack's First Halloween.  He was only one month old! Oh how I miss these little baby days of holding him.  I know it looks blue but the color is purple.  The lighting was terrible this afternoon..  I used my Doodlebug rub ons to create the title and then I used my doodlebug ribbon to create the mat.  I attached it with doodlebug brads.

Supplies
Everything is Doodlebug!

Do you remember the awesome jellies?  I loved those embellishments!  I can't believe I scrapped this layout 6 years ago.  Wow time sure does fly!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will have another Doodlebug project tomorrow!  See ya then!

Back To School Tuesday

Hey Everyone,

Did everyone have a great long weekend.  Ours started and ended great but boy the middle was terrible.  We had a storm Saturday night and we lost power at 5:00 AM and we didn't get it back on till Sunday night at 8:00 PM.  It was terrible!  We actually went to the mall to walk around during the afternoon because we were tired of sitting in the dark house.  If you know me I HATE to go to the mall.  I go like once a year.  I hate to shop!  Monday was basically throwing everything out of our fridge and then going to buy all new!  FUN!

I had my meeting at my scrapbook store.  I am so excited about some upcoming plans with the store.  I will share when we work out all the details, and I have picked out my paper for my upcoming classes.  For October it is Echo Park's Halloween line and then November is going to be the brand new We R Memory Keepers line.  Should be good!

Burlap and Buttercups September Kit is posted HERE.  It is awesome!  It features Basic Grey's Oxford line.  I had so much fun working with it!  Here is a picture of Jack in Kindergarten Camp.

I absolutely LOVED playing with the chipboard shapes.

Supplies- All contents are from the September Kit from Burlap and Buttercups.

Basic Grey Friday Part 2

Hey Everyone,
Just Popping in to show you the next set of cards in the store display of Basic Grey's Oxford line.

The great thing about these kits is that you get everything you need in the kit.  I had to make the cards like the directions but you can see how you can personalize them to make them your own!

I can't wait for this weekend.  Hopefully I can get my act together- get some rest, relax and actually get in my craft room to make something.  I am going into the store Saturday because I need to pick out the paper line for my class in October.  Plus there are several kits for me.  Can't wait.

Sorry again for the super fast post.  Have a super Labor Day Weekend Everyone! I will see you next week!
