Friday Core'dinations Winter

Happy Friday!

Love that it is the weekend!  Do you have any fun plans.  I have a ton of tennis and that is about it.  Jack is always busy and on the go so that is a constant!  I just love being home with my guys!!

Last year we did not get a lot of snow.  I think it snowed only 3-4 times but each time the boys would get so excited.  Jack wanted to make snow angels and I happened to catch him.  He is my little sow angel.
For my layout I started with a navy Core background and scored and sanded it.  I then took a Core Whitewash Barn Siding piece and embossed it with my Couture embossing snowflake folder.  I then lightly sanded it to bring out the red.  I then made a Core tag using coordinating Core essentials cardstock.  Finally I punched out my snowflakes using a Marvy punch.  I used the Glitter Silk paper for my snowflakes.  Lastly I then built my layout layering the cardstock elements and some left over pattern paper from Echo Park.  I added some fun stickers as embellishments and wrote my journaling with a white gel pen.

Thursday Spark Challenge 1/27

Happy Thursday

I am playing along with the Sparks Challenge this week.  This week there is really  fun sketch for inspiration.
I followed the sketch to the letter with this one.  I loved the large circle.

Jack has a birthday party this weekend so I knew I wanted to a birthday card and Jack said he wanted me to make a funny one.  Soooo I broke out my stamps and we looked them over and he liked the birthday fishes.  So now all I had to do was pick the paper for this little guppy!  I have a whole bag filled with scraps from a really old summer collection from Echo Park.  I think it is almost 3-4 years old now but I loved this collection and I saved all the scraps.  This is what I came up with.
I liked it and Jack thought it was awesome so he is already to go!  Just have to include the gift card and we are done!  I love it when we work together and this challenge worked out great!

Happy Tuesday!

I love Tuesdays because Some Odd Girl has their digi release and this weeks release is so awesome.  Meet Grandpa!  I just love him.  He is too darn cute.

For my card I broke into my Echo Park paper packs (if you have been following me my goal is to use up my stash.  This is the next paper pack I will be using up!).  I thought the paper and sticker were just so perfect for Grandpa!  I colored Grandpa with my spectrum noir markers.

Monday BIC46 & Retro Sketches 99

Happy Monday!
Is it cold enough for anyone?  I don't know about you but I am soo tired of this cold and winter! The only good thing coming out of this is that I seem to get a lot of crafting done!

I looked over the challenge blogs and decided to enter the BIC46 challenge and the Retro Sketches challenge this week.

So first up the BIC45 photo challenge
From this I got the obvious idea of the coffee cup and the colors of yellow and blue!

I then found the Retro Sketches 99 sketch for my design.
Here is what I came up with!

The mug has a chevron and dot design and I just so happened to have an embossing folder with that exact design and embossed the white background.  I then stamped my sentiment and added some brown pearls.  Finally I colored my mug with my spectrum noir markers.

Now, I do have to say, I am not happy with the way this turned out.  I like it but I am not in love with it.  Does this ever happen to you?  I did not have time to play around with it so I just kept it.  What do you do when you don't LOVE a project?

Happy Thursday,

I have made a huge commitment for 2014 to use up my paper stash.  I started with the Echo Park glue and paste collection and I used EVERY drop of it.  It felt sooo awesome to finish it off.  Soo my next collection is one that I bought  2  years ago and I never used it. I LOVE JIllibean collections and  It has been sitting on my shelf!  So now this is my second collection that I am going to finish off!

For my layout I decided to matt all the photos in brown to really make them pop!  The photo is one of my boys shopping for all the fall flowers and pumpkins to decorate the house! I love it when the boys will let me take their picture together!!

Tuesday SOG Digi Release Ribbon

Happy Tuesday,
Well, it is back to work for me after a long three day weekend.  Oh how I love spending more time with my guys,  We just hung out at home playing games, reading etc.  Nothing better!

We are back to our regular scheduling since CHA is over with and we are back to our Tuesday New Digi Release.  This week we have Ribbon.  Is she not beautiful? I just LOVE her.
For my card I started with some My Mind's Eye paper and cut it in half and stitched the two pieces together.  I then made a photo card and placed vellum behind it.  I colored ribbon with my spectrum noir markers (I thing this is some of the best coloring I have ever done. If I do say so myself.). I pop dotted her into the photo card and then stamped my sentiment using a clear sentiment stamp.

Monday Core'dinations Cold Outside!

Happy Monday!
Did you have a nice weekend?  We did here.  Lots of fun and relaxation.  It is so nice when you have Monday off. I was able to enjoy my entire sunday with crafting and watching football! Nothing better!

I don't know where you live but Baby, it's cold outside!  I made this layout using my Core'dinations Cardstock and some leftover Echo Park scraps.  I started with my Core Essentials Darks as my base.  I then took a Core Impressions and tore the edges and lightly sanded it.  The embossing is sort of in a snowflake pattern.  I then cut out my snowflakes using the Core Glitter Silk.  This cardstock is heavier than normal cardstock and I was a bit worried that it wouldn't cut in my Silhouette but it cut like BUTTA!  it was awesome!  I then cut my title using the Core Essentials.  The last step was to take another piece ( red) of cardstock and I ran it through my paper crimper and lightly sanded it.  Now it was time to build the page!  I added that cute snowman sticker and banner.  Love how this turned out.
The photos are of my little one last year.  We didn't get much snow and this was the first snowfall.  He loved playing outside in it and trying to make snowballs!

Thursday Sparks Challenge 1/12

Happy Thursday
This week over at the Sparks blog the weekly challenge is a photo inspiration.

You know I totally lOVE these types of challenges and I just totally love the colors in this-what a great combo- yellow, white, black and grey!!!

So I broke into my Core'dinations card stock and found some yummy bright and cheery yellow and tore it to expose the core.  Next, I found an awesome Core Amour that had the grey and black combo.  I tore the bottom and then lightly sanded  the paper to expose the embossing.  I then stamped my image on the Core 110 lb smooth cardstock and colored the cute little bee with my spectrum noir markers.  For my Speech bubble I heat embossed the sentiment.  Too cute!

Tuesday You're my HOmerun!

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I had a soccer layout and today I have a Coach Pitch Baseball layout for you.  Jack LOVES sports and tries to play them all.  Two years ago Jillibean soup came out with THE cutest kraft collection.  I think I bought enough of it to scrap my boys FOREVER with this collection.

I loved these photos that I took of Jack at one of his practices.  His first year the batting helmet with sooo big for his little head.  It kept falling down on his face and I was able to capture that and then I love the photo of him at bat.  He had a fun season.

For my layout I love the mixture of the colors with the Kraft paper.  Really love the pops of white, blue and red!  For my layout I sort of scraplifted myself.  I took the sketch from yesterday and sort of flipped it!  I love that I can scraplift and it makes scrapping fun and easy!

Monday January Sketch with Moxxie

Happy Monday!

Today I have for you a fun new sketch and layout that I did for Moxxie.  The sketch is pretty fun so let's get to it.
For my layout I used the Soccer collection.  I don't know about you but I have a TON of soccer photos of my oldest son and this collection has allowed me to know them out!

For my layout I started with my white Core'dinations base and roughed it up a bit with the Sand it gadget to distress it.  I then splattered some grey mist.  I then decided to add a bit more roughness and tore the bottom edge.  I then decided to add some fun grey Core and then put down some of the funky black and white pattern paper.  Next I layered my paper and cut the large soccer ball from one of the pattern papers.  Finally I added a core tag and distressed it a bit and added some yummy twine!  Don't you love the green, grey, white, and black color combos?  I know I do!

Thursday Paper Smooches-RetroSketches Hey Chickie!

Happy Thursday!

I am popping in today to bring you a new card that I have been working on for 2 different challenges.  First up this week is an Anything Goes Week over at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge site.
I needed a bit of mojo and I found this awesome sketch over at Retro Sketches
I needed a card for my friend that has been house bound for awhile due to a broken leg and I came up with this card for her.
I stuck to the sketch as close as I could with just a couple of changes.  I first used my embossing paste again (yup totally addicted to the stuff!).  I love the circle and heart pattern.  I wanted the card to be cheery and what color is more cheery than yellow so I found a scrap of yellow studio calico paper.  Next I stamped my cute little chick and colored her with my spectrum noir markers.  I then stamped the sentiment.  For the white cardstock I used my Core'dinations 110 lb smooth cardstock! Finally I added some red solid twine from May Arts!

Tuesday Moxxie Soccer Week!

Happy Tuesday!

All this week on the Moxxie Blog the design team is showing off the fun new sports collection Soccer!  This is a fun new collection that features bright green, black, white and grey colors.  I think this is a wonderful color combo.  Here is my first layout using this new collection
I started with some Core' Amour cardstock and lightly sanded it to bring out the stars.  I then started to layer my pattern paper and I added some circles.  I don't know why but I am really into circles lately.  It seems like I can't create a scrapbook project without adding some circles.  I then added a touch of bling and some flair and twine.

The photo is of my son receiving his medal for a wonderful season of soccer.  He had a great time at soccer but on this day he also said that he was finished with soccer and wanted to concentrate on tennis and lacrosse.

Can you believe CHA is just around the corner?  It seems sooo early this year.  All this week over at the Some Odd Girl blog we are giving some sneak peeks at the new clear stamp sets that will debut at CHA.  I am giving a little sneak peek at the new Hipster Mae collection.  This stamp set will have the full release in March 2014 but I wanted to give you a  little look at this fun new set.  Hipster Mae is filled with fun stamps and this coffee cup and sentiment is just to die for!  For the cups I colored them and then cut out the hearts and pop dotted them on to give them a bit of dimension.  I stamped the sentiment and added some yummy twine!

Happy Friday!
I am sooo glad it is the weekend!  Do you have any big plans?  I don't really but hubby and oldest son are headed to the Bengals playoff game on sunday!  They are soooo excited.  I will stay home and craft and watch the game on t.v.

Today I have my 3rd layout to share with you using the Paper and Glue Collection from Echo Park.  I love getting these collections and just cranking out some layouts.
I took this picture at the 1st grade open house.  Jack was so excited to see his name on the bulletin board and I took his photo.  I added in some Elle's Studio tabs and jouraling cards because I thought the sentiments were sooo true and it formed my title:  Big Story!  Adventures Ahead!  How perfect for 1st grade!

supply list
paper-stickers- echo park
pearls- doodlebug
elle's studio journaling cards and vellum

If you missed my other projects using this collection you can go HERE and HERE!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I will be back on Monday with some new projects.  Due to cutting back on Design Team work I am also going to cut back just a bit on blogging as well.  I plan on going to a 4 day week with blogging.  Hope you stick with me!  See you next week.  Have a wonderful and crafty day and weekend!

Thursday Sparks Challenge 12/30

Happy Thursday,

I am very sad because today my break is officially over and I am back to work.  I can say it just wasn't long enough but oh well, what is  a girl supposed to do?

I am playing along again with the Sparks Paper Smooches challenge.  This week the theme is Anything Goes!
For my card I needed a birthday card so I broke out my Birthday Buddies stamp set.  I first stamped my image on some Core'dinations smooth 110 lb. cardstock.  I then cut the cutie out and colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Next I punched out a circle and got to try a new technique using a Christmas present from my hubby-- embossing paste.  Oh, I think I am hooked on this technique.  You can slightly see the triangle pattern and texture the paste gives it.  Next I made my base using some Core cardstock.  I attached some thick chevron ribbon from May Arts and then stamped my sentiment.  Finally I added my pearls!

Happy New Year!

Wow 2014!  I can't believe it.  I just got used to writing 2013 and now I have to change again.  Do you make Resolutions?  I don't.  I just always have the idea to be the best that you can be at that time.  It seems to work for so I just keep it going.

Well, with a new month we have a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl!  This month's challenge is see how you use TAGS on your projects.  Here is a look at mine.

I started with my Core'dinations 110 lb. smooth cardstock and ran it through my Spellbinders embossing folder.  I then made a tag using some old scraps from Doodlebug.  I stamped my Some Odd Girl image (from the Sweet and Salty collection) and colored the adorable pretzel with my Spectrum Noir markeds.  For the salt I used some Glossy Accents and it turned out awesome.  I then stamped my sentiment and added some yummy ribbon from May Arts.
